Sunday, 30th September

The Annual Softball Day was held on Sunday 30 September at Willows Oval, ANU.
Although the wind was little strong, it was a near perfect day for the Softball Day.

There were four teams, ANU Japan Club, UC Japan Club, Embassy of Japan Team and AJS/CJC Team. Once again, last years winners team AJS/CJC looked strong and all set to win again. But in softball anything can happen and the other teams were determined to cause an upset. This was not to be.

Senior members of the AJS prepared Onigiri, Coleslaw, Potato Salad and Pasta Salad early in the morning and all the hungry players enjoyed a lovely BBQ lunch after the first game.

The teams fought hard and in the end, it was once again the AJS Team again that triumphed with the narrowest of margins. The second placed Embassy of Japan has talked of importing players for next season in an effort to raise it's softball profile. The day was a successful one that offered the opportunity to exchange friendship through sport.

Participants of the day. Yusaku Horiuchi, the winning catain holds the shield.
