To welcome in 2008, the Australia-Japan Society of the ACT is pleased to invite you to the first event of the year, the annual Shinnenkai, - New Year’s Party.
Enjoy some fine food and great company at Canberra’s premier Japanese restaurant, Iori.
A banquet will be prepared so there is no need to be a connoisseur of Japanese cuisine
Any special dietary requirements will be catered for

NOVEMBER
Kite Making/Flying
Make and fly your own kite!
Japanese kite maker/artist, Mr Oda, will visit Canberra to give instruction on kite making. After finishing making your kites at the Multi Cultural Centre, we will go to the Commonwealth Park to fly the kites.
All welcome. For those wish to purchase a kit, please contact Canberra Japan Club as the number of kits are limited.

Gagaku
Gagaku (??, literally "elegant music") is a type of Japanese classical music that has been performed at the Imperial court for several centuries. This month, the Kintanodai Gagaku Orchestra will be performing around the ACT and New South Wales.
Admission to all concerts is free

The Australia-Japan Society is organising another softball Day as follows:

The winner will receive a perpetual shield.

THE AJS ANNUAL DINNER
Guest speaker will be the Mayor of Queanbeyan Frank Pangallo. Mayor Pangallo and Queanbeyan have a long history of relations with Japan and we look forward to hearing much more about it on the night.
